FAQ

  1. What is I.V. therapy?
Most often used by doctors and nurses to treat patients, I.V. (intravenous) therapy is an alternative that is received in the vein as opposed to oral supplements. Medical-grade electrolyte fluid, vitamins, and minerals are introduced to the body through a small sterile I.V. catheter. These products are custom-designed to hydrate when needed, to replace lost electrolytes essential to the human body for the normal function of our cells, muscles, and organs, and to supply essential nutrients (vitamins and minerals) to keep our energy levels up and help the body resist infection.

  2. What’s the difference between an I.V. and a Shot?
Unlike an I.V. that goes into the vein, a shot is injected into the muscle. I.V.s usually take 45 minutes to 1 hour while a shot takes less than 5 minutes to administer. The biggest trade-off is the type and amount of vitamins and minerals received; while I.V.s provide more vitamins and minerals, shots are best when you don’t have time for an I.V. and still want to maintain a healthy body and lifestyle.

  3. What is NAD and why should I get NAD+?
NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a molecule found within all living cells. Our cells utilize NAD for proper functioning of energy metabolism, mitochondrial function, DNA repair, and gene expression. As we age our NAD levels decline which causes our cells to function at a subpar level.
NAD+ is the only product available that contains the active form of NAD that has been clinically proven to increase NAD levels. They are administered as EZ-melt tablets so that absorption takes place in the mouth, bypassing the gut to shorten the absorption process.

  4. Why do I need I.V. infusion therapy?
I.V.s are best to treat the following:
    - Dehydration
    - Overindulgence of alcohol resulting in a hangover
    - Athletic Exhaustion
    - Post Chemo/Radiation Therapy Recovery
    - Food Poisoning
    - Cold/Flu
    - Nausea/Vomiting

    - PMS symptoms
    - Dietary Supplementation
    - Unchecked Diarrhea

    - Chronic & Acute Gut Issues
    - Lyme Disease Flare Up
    - Premature aging, skin damage, sunburns, thinning hair, & brittle nails

    - Migraine Headaches

    - Severe nausea and vomiting in Pregnancy (Hyperemesis Gravidarum)

    - Detoxify from substances

    - Neuropathy
    - Improve overall health and well-being

  5. How does I.V. therapy work?
The direct infusion of electrolytes along with vitamins, minerals, and/or anti-oxidants into the bloodstream ensures the most rapid method of treatment and recovery.

  6. Is the I.V. infusion considered a medical procedure?
Yes, IV Infusion is a medical procedure.

  7. Who can administer I.V.s and shots? What credentials are necessary for this procedure?
Since shots and I.V. infusions are invasive procedures requiring the precise preparation of products and insertion into a vein or by intramuscular injection, the administration of ENLIVEN products requires a registered nurse (RN), paramedic, or physician licensed by the state of practice. We are also monitored for proficiency under our medical director, Dr. Jeff Pinnow.

  8. How long does it take for an I.V. drip to finish?
It takes 45 min to 1 hour depending on the type of drip given.

  9. What’s the difference between taking vitamins orally and taking them through the vein?
The fastest and most efficient way to introduce virtually any substance into the human circulatory system is intravenous (in-the-vein) therapy. Pills and liquids take more time to absorb into the bloodstream by way of the stomach. What’s more, only 20-50% of vitamins taken orally are absorbed in the digestive system.
Intravenous therapy is the way to go. Through an I.V., 100% of vitamins are absorbed.

  10. How soon will I see results from I.V. therapy and shots?
Most people feel positive results while the I.V. is still dripping, and some people feel positive results 15-30 minutes after getting a shot.
